I can’t find boots that fit me anywhere! Can you make boots for my feet?

Absolutely. Customers come to see me all the time with the same complaints. “I’ve always wanted to own a pair of leather boots, but…”

  • My calves are too big
  • My feet are too narrow
  • I have one foot longer than the other
  • I have to wear custom orthotics
  • The list goes on and on.

I love the look on their faces when I tell them they really can have a pair of beautiful, well-fitting leather boots. It’s one of the best parts of the craft.

I want something totally unique. Can you make styles other than the ones listed here?

Of course. That’s the great thing about a custom pair of boots—you can have most anything you want. We can modify an existing style or make up something totally different. If you can describe it or show me a picture, I can probably make it for you.

How long does it take to get the boots made?

Once I start work on your order, it should take a couple of weeks to complete. But it all depends on the complexity of your particular pair.

How long do they last?

With proper care and maintenance, your boots should last many, many years. They are made with the highest quality materials, using time-honored tools and techniques. I don’t take shortcuts.

People who work their boots hard (like loggers and working cowboys) appreciate the superior quality and fit of my boots and often rotate through three pairs at once. Obviously, these people are going to wear through the boots faster.

Also, you should know that I gladly do repairs on any boot I make.

Do you really make every piece by hand?

Yes. I make each pair myself. I don’t have an apprentice, and I don’t send work out to be assembled in other shops or overseas.

Is there a waiting list?

Yes. The only way I can guarantee the highest quality workmanship and personal attention is to make one pair at a time. This kind of service takes time, and it’s worth waiting for.

The waiting list is generally two years from the time you order your boots to the day you slip them on your feet for the first time. Every customer is eager to get their order as soon as possible, and every one has said “It’s absolutely worth the wait!”

What if my feet change size while I’m on the waiting list?

This almost never happens. If you lose or gain a significant amount of weight and notice your regular shoe size has changed, just let me know. We’ll see if another fitting is appropriate.

How much do custom boots cost?

That all depends on what you order. Prices vary widely between styles, ornamentation and types of leather. However, they generally start around $2,000.

Because of the length of my waiting list, many of my customers find they can make the down payment and then save the rest before their boots are ready. Some have even decided to put a little money away each month to invest in themselves. New boots are a great reward—you deserve it!
